Esti’s Story: One Phone Call Changed Everything

Esti was a cheerful little girl attending a small kindergarten in Israel. Every morning she arrived with a bright smile that lit up the classroom.

One day, her teacher noticed something unusual. Esti seemed to wear the same clothes every day. When gently asked about it, Esti became embarrassed and turned away without answering.

Concerned, the teacher contacted Israel Help and Education Center.

A member of our team visited Esti’s home to make sure everything was alright. After several knocks, Esti’s mother finally opened the door.

What he found was heartbreaking.

The refrigerator was empty. The home was in desperate condition. Four young children, including Esti, lacked even the most basic necessities. Overwhelmed by fear and exhaustion, Esti’s mother burst into tears. She worried that her children would be taken away and that she would lose the only treasures she had in life.

We reassured her that we had come for one reason only—to help.

Thanks to that caring teacher’s phone call, we were able to provide food, clothing, household necessities, and ongoing support. Today, Esti and her siblings have what every child deserves: food on the table, clean clothes, and a safe environment filled with hope.
